Limitation of Internship
The banking industry has perks and downsides, just like everything else. Real insight into the profession may be gained through internships, allowing us to build on the theory we learnt in school and get practical experience through the bank. Working as an intern also has a cost, some of which are stated below:
- Compensation may be minimal or non-existent, as banks often hire interns at lower pay rates or unpaid positions.
- Interns may be assigned menial tasks that do not contribute to skill development, as some employers or managers take advantage of the intern's role.
- Working hours for internships can be irregular and may not align with regular business hours, which can be challenging for those who prefer a consistent schedule.
